Prevention

Introduction
ISVIP will become a visible international forum for promoting violence and injury prevention. It will provide an opportunity for all relevant stakeholders to be advocates for the global advancement of a safer world.

Mission
ISVIP advocates for a global commitment to violence and injury prevention through establishing networks, supporting public policy actions and consequently enhancing research, education and initiatives in the areas of violence and injury prevention and safety promotion.

The goals of ISVIP are to:

• Increase global awareness of the consequences of violence and injury.

• Promote action towards immediate implementation of effective preventive measures.

• Advocate for increasing resources at all levels for violence and injury prevention.

• Establish and facilitate mutually respectful networks among all members and stakeholders.

• Collaborate and organize conferences and meetings, particularly the World Conferences on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion under the agreement established with WHO and the groups of Collaborating Centers.

• Support the implementation of public policy.

• Promote the enhancement of research and evaluation.

• Increase access to training and education.

• Support and endorse initiatives relevant to the ISVIP aims.
